Valentine’s Day is a showcase for chocolate, fruit and hand-finished confections. The archived Valentine’s Day menu from Belle Cakery gives a good picture of what a French-inspired patisserie might offer. This page is informational only.
Individual desserts
- A tropical mousse of vanilla bean and rum with passionfruit curd, coconut dacquoise and fresh mango, made without gluten
- A malted milk chocolate mousse layered with a crisp peanut butter base, peanut ganache and cocoa sponge
- A heart-shaped flourless chocolate torte with whipped mascarpone and vanilla cherry, also gluten-free and sold singly or in pairs
Candies
All the confections were naturally gluten-free and could be bought by the piece or boxed:
- Grand Marnier truffles, soft ganache dipped in dark chocolate
- Dark chocolate caramel hearts, gilded shells with buttery caramel inside
- Pâtes de fruit, pectin-set fruit jellies rolled in sugar, in red currant-strawberry and Meyer lemon flavors
- French macarons in chocolate-raspberry, cherry-almond and pistachio
Packaged treats
Gift-friendly bags included peanut brittle and a bag of vanilla bean and raspberry meringues, both gluten-free.
